Mint                                        Where's The Catch                                RefresMint

Fjeder shiner22 is a four piece power pop group from Denmark. This talented quad has been ripping up the airwaves around the world and has drawn quite a bit of attention to themselves.

The band was founded by Fjeder and Thomaz and has recently become almost complete with the additon of Fox (bass and backup vocals) and Lacey (drums and backup vocals). We understand that all four of the members are songwriters and there is a lot of new music on the way. They're still looking for a keyboard player, so if you're interested you can email them directly.

Their lyrics are intelligent and timely. Their music is well-constructed vibrancy and has a life of its own which draws the listener quickly and permanently under its spell.

Fjeder and Thomaz shiner22 boasts three albums on the PeaceWork Records Label. "Mint" and its enhanced CD sister "RefreshMint" as well as the more raw and ballsy EP, "Where's The Catch?"

shiner22 drew the attention of David Bash, founder of the International Pop Overthrow, who invited them to the New York IPO December, 2002. Look out America . . . The Danish Dynamic Duo is coming and the domestic music scene may never be the same again.

The story of shiner actually dates as far back to 1989. Fjeder (then bassist/backing vocalist of the Danish heavy rock band HARLOT) formed a song-writing team with keyboarder Morten Ramsing. It soon became evident that the songs the duo crafted wasnīt exactly Harlot material. Even though they had a pretty clear view of the direction they wanted to take, they felt they needed a third party to complete the picture. They teamed up with guitarist and well known Danish radio host Kim Heibon, renowned for being somewhat of a Beatle-freak. He instantly left the mark on the musical direction they were looking for. As a veteran of the Scandinavian hard rock scene, touring and recording with various bands for almost a decade, Fjeder had a long standing desire to take his song-writing in a different direction ... away from the formalized and restricted sound of the 80īs, something he seemed to achieve by teaming up with these talented people. Thomas

The trio continued writing material over the following Years, slowly but steadily building a solid platform for forming a fully fledged touring band. In 1993 they finally decided to draft a rhythm section. Johnnie McCoy (drums) and Bjarne Olsen (bass) completed the line-up and SHINER was born. Taking shiner on the road seemed to be the right move. They attracted increasingly larger crowds and the reviews they received just kept getting better. Still, they didnīt seem able to attract any real interest from record labels, a frustration most bands share. Perhaps because of this, the founding members were beginning to show a certain degree of fatigue, letting different personal problems affect their contribution to the band. Instead of desperately clinging on to something which obviously wasnīt the winning formula, Fjeder had a good long think about the future and decided to disband leaving room for reorganising at a later stage.

Fjeder spent the next couple years touring and recording with various bands and artists, but the urge to do his own thing became too strong to ignore. He approached Thomaz Christiansen (a young but obviously talented guitarist raised on the unlikely diet of early Blur and Aerosmith) with the suggestion they resurrect SHINER. Being adequately "off" to become the perfect "sidekick" for the new band, Thomaz agreed.

After finding out there was another band named Shiner, Fjeder decided to change the name to shiner22 and the rest, as they say, is history, dude.
